I hate calling voicemail!
Look, I know what to do. Why must I be told every time. 1 to send a fax, 5 to send a page, leave a message after the tone...
I'm busy too.

Mid-sized businesses need to make sales calls to keep their deal pipeline flowing. Thanks for these tips which I implemented a while back.
I would be interested in technology to manage calls although my iphone does quite a good job.
Technology is great if you can afford it. when you work at the big companies, they can absorb the capital outlay but us small companies need to be more innovative.

Voice Mail is so much easier to work with tahn how you describe. Sorry, but I believe you are way behind the times guy. (I work for AT&T on the Legacy Platforms.) The newer stuff you can play back messages on your PC, visually scroll through calls, calling numbers, times, and whatever other criteria you might need to sort through and save.

Like you, I desist voicemail. I am aware of some automated services that will transcribe messages for you. Perhaps you can discuss this in a later podcast or is it better for the Small Biz Tech Girl?

Very good points - and I detest the "It's Joe, call me back" type of message - well, why? Some info would be helpful! My tip - change how you say your number when you repeat it. First, say the numbers - "two-six-seven." At the end say "two-sixty-seven" as you say when counting hundreds. It helps your number stand out and may be useful to people who having trouble hearing numbers.
